Presidents Day

My favortie president is Abraham Lincoln... honest Abe! Here are a few Abe facts:

1. He was the first president to be assassinated.

2. He was the tallest president... 6'4"

3. He was the first president with a beard.

4. He was a jokester! He was recorded saying "if I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?"

5. He wore a stovepipe top hat and used it to store things...notes, letter, even bills.

6. Three of his four sons died before the age of 20.

7. He wrote his own speeches. They say his famous Gettysburg Address wasn't even his best one.

8. He had premonitions. He and his wife Mary actually held seances in the White House.

9. Both Lincoln and Kennedy were shot in the head with one bullet on a Friday.

I've got a new attitude!

"Runnin' hot, runnin' cold- I was running into overload ! I tied it up-my point of view, I've got a new attitude!" Never really liked that song but lately I think I'm living the lyrics!

Getting older, midlife, menopause all bring changes. Big ones! Not only physical changes. With aging you look different, feel different, tire easier. Midlife makes me feel like I have more years behind me than I do infront of me and just saying the word menopause makes me HOT!

Along with all this I am beginning to see I have "a new attitude"! I have noticed the things that use to bother me don't! I have also noticed the things that use to NOT bother me DO..ha! Go figure! I can say I have given up on a wishful "hope" that I have held on to for years. I pray more and worry less.

I think I finally figured something out- if I can learn to control my thoughts I can control my words. I would rather be the one that's taking it than giving it out. I have decided if you please God- you will please everyone else. IF that "everyone else" can be pleased. :/

I will say I need to make some changes... some big some small. I will pray and sweat and joyfully love my way through this "change of life" and Lord willing, will make it through. :)
