So long March

Well, another month has come to an end. How time flies. Unpredictable March says good-bye and April showers promise to bring May flowers. Another memorable month! I thank God for the Seasons. Each has it's "own thing" and I love that! Fall has always been my favorite but there's something I love about each and every one.

We each go through different seasons of our lives too. Me- I am somewhere in the middle, looking forward to having son and daughter-in-laws, to becoming a Gammy and watching my children raise their children. Aging with grace all along the way, of course! ha!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the sun.

The Anniversary date

Our 31st Anniversary was March 24th. We ate supper at the Ye Olde Steakhouse and it was so good. Was a first for us and we loved it. Funny how birthdays and anniversaries always make you "remember when"... here's a few of mine~

1. Our first movie was Grease, saw it in Knoxville- I was 16.

2. First kiss was in the red truck- we still have the red truck.

3. We have a song- "Oh, What a Night" by the 4 Seasons.

4. My middle name ELLA is in his middle name CLELLAN- it was a sign!

5. For me it was love at first sight- seriously.

6. After all these years he can still make my heart skip a beat. <3

Spring has Sprung!

Spring is definitely in the air! Today- Sunday, March 2oth "the first day of Spring"- has been a beautiful day. Our yard is coming alive. Bradford pears and forsythias are always the first to say hello and they are in full bloom! Flowers are beginning to peek their little heads up. It is such a wonderful season. I see God everywhere...every flower, tree, bird the beautiful mountains and I can't help but think how beautiful Heaven must be.

Perfect Weekend

I think the kitchen is the center of the home. Alot of good memories have been made around the kitchen table. This weekend was one of those perfect "kitchen" weekends. All three of my children and their sweeties came for supper and I loved it!
I was so excited all day Saturday. I wanted the house to be clean, the table to be pretty and the food to be perfect. I thought about what to cook for several days- going back and forth from this recipe to that. Finally, I decided on roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, pasta salad, broccoli and cheese, deviled eggs and rolls. For dessert -4 layered chocolate mousse-yum!
I think I nailed it! All seemed to enjoy and I couldn't have been happier!
After they ate they sat at the kitchen table and talked, mostly football-as should be, all 3 of the boys are coaches. The girls insisted I sit down and take a load off while THEY do dishes, I could really get use to that. :) All that fuss and all soo worth it. I loved every minute of it and I can't wait to do it again!
God has blessed me in more ways than I count on all my fingers and toes! No, my life isn't perfect... nothing is this side of Heaven but it's perfect for me.

THREE GENERATIONS

What a great day this has been! Me, Mom and Brooke just "hanging out". With us it really doesn't matter what we do or if we do anything at all, either way there will be laughter, food and Sophie! I feel so blessed to have the kind of relationship I have with my Mother and my daughter. I couldn't have hand picked them any better myself.... thank you God for knowing what these two precious souls would mean to me and for placing them smack dab in the middle of my life! :)

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

I love Dr. Seuss. His birthday was March 2nd and our school had a Seussabration! It was so much fun! Our staff dressed up and I was Daisy Head Mayzie! He would have been 107 years
old. He and his wife never had children, when asked why he replied "you make them, I'll amuse them."

A publisher challenged Dr. Seuss to write a book using only 50 different words. He bet him one dollar a word.. $50.00! Henceforth.... Green Eggs and Ham!

"I could not, would not, on a boat. I will not, will not, with a goat. I will not eat them in the rain. I will not eat them on a train. Not in the dark! Not in a tree! Not in a car! You let me be! I do not like them in a box. I do not like them with a fox. I will not eat them in a house. I do not like them with a mouse. I do not like them here or there. I do not like them ANYWHERE! I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them, Sam-I-am.
